About the speaker

As General Manager of the Embedded Windows Embedded Business Unit at Microsoft Corporation, Kevin Dallas is responsible for the product planning and management of all of the Windows Embedded product lines.

Kevin has held a number of different positions since joining Microsoft in May 1995 including Senior Director of Strategic Alliances, Director Product Management Group for Windows Mobile Devices, Group Product Manager for Windows CE and Group Product Manager for Windows.

Prior to joining Microsoft, Kevin worked in the semiconductor industry at NVIDIA (pre IPO) and National Semiconductor (in US/EUR/Middle East) in roles that included General Management, Corporate Development, Product Management, Microprocessor Design and Systems Engineering.

Kevin holds a bachelors degree in computer science and business from Staffordshire University in England.

About the speaker

Dr. Fred Fong is the Technical Support Director of PL Digital TV in Greater China region of the Home business unit at NXP Semiconductors, the newly independent semiconductor company founded by Philips. Formally, he was the Sr. Director of Design Service APAC of Jabil Circuit Ltd., based in Shanghai.

Fred began his career at Philips Taiwan Limited in 1992 and has held various positions in Marketing/GM at Philips locations in US and APAC. He left Philips in 1997 then rejoined NXP In 2006 in Taipei where he was responsible for the management of technical support team of Digital TV solutions to customers in GC.

Fred earned BS EE degree from National Taiwan University, Master and Ph. D. degrees from University of Pittsburgh, PA., USA. He is currently based in Taipei, Taiwan.

Dr. Jack He Ouyang is a mathematician, an engineer and an entrepreneur. Shanghai Jade has successfully designed and delivered the China's first 0.13m Multimedia Application Processor. Prior to founding Jade Tech, Dr. Ouyang was the founder, President, CEO, Chairman and CTO of WIS Technologies Inc.(San Jose, California, USA), now named WISChip International, acquired recently by Macronus at 80 million USD, which delivered the first high quality multi-format video encoder SoC in the world, a Principle Engineer for Cornerstone Imaging (San Jose), a Sr. Architect for Chips & Technology (San Jose), a Sr. Software Developer for AXS (Alameda), a research scientist and software director for Enertronics Research (St. Louis), and cofounder and director of R&D for Hmedia (Fremont). In all these companies, Dr. Ouyang's work made major contribution to those companies' revenue.

Dr. Ouyang published more than 20 mathematical papers in international journals. His mathematical interests include differential geometry, global analysis, differential topology, probability theory, fuzzy analysis and functional analysis etc. Dr. Ouyang was an invited speaker at several AMS annual meetings, European Differential Geometry Conference. Dr. Ouyang holds a B.A. in Mathematics from Changsha Institute of Technology, Changsha, PRC, an M.A. in Mathematics from Beijing Normal University, PRC, and a Ph.D. in Mathematics from Washington University in St. Louis, MO, USA.

Mike Mui is the Regional Marketing Senior Director for Greater China region of the Multimarket Semiconductors business unit at NXP Semiconductors, the newly independent semiconductor company founded by Philips. As a veteran with more than 17 years experience in the semiconductor industry, Mike is now responsible for all the regional sales and marketing related activities within the MMS business unit across Mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan.

In this role, Mike manages the team that develops strategy for Multimarket Semiconductors business unit with a focus on delivering comprehensive and fully supported product line to the Greater China market. Mike has also successfully established a local supporting team including FAE and marketing for the business unit in the region.

Mike joined NXP Semiconductors (then Philips Semiconductors) in 1994 as Sales Engineer responsible for China OEM sales activities. Since then Mike has been appointed several sales and marketing management positions within the company. Before taking the current role, Mike was the Asia Regional Marketing Director of the Multimarket Semiconductors business unit at NXP Semiconductors.

Prior to joining NXP Semiconductors, Mike had 3 years experience of working in Hong Kong semiconductor distributor and OEM for PC and peripherals.

Mike earned an honored degree of Bachelor of Science from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He is currently working in Taipei, Taiwan.

Hemen Cheng is ON Semiconductor Global Sales & Marketing Director of Automotive & Power Regulation Group. Mr. Cheng brings over 16 years of extensive experience in the semiconductor industry to the position, including expertise in switch-mode power supply, strategic marketing, sales and product business unit operations.

He joined ON Semiconductor in 1999, and has held positions of increasing importance in the company's headquarters in Phoenix, U.S.A., across different functions including strategic marketing and product management. Prior to his promotion to the current Hong Kong-based position in 2005, Mr. Cheng was Marketing Director of Portable Application Segment of Analog Products Group.

Mr. Cheng started his engineering career at Motorola Semiconductor Products Sector, having held management positions in various functions in Hong Kong, Singapore and U.S.A. He holds a bachelor's degree in Solid State Physics and a master's degree in Solid State Electronics from Arizona State University. Mr. Cheng also serves on the technical committee of China Standard Certification Center, China's highest authority for certifying energy conservation products.

Jerry Yang, the Director of Sales for PI China, joined Power Integrations in Oct 2004. Prior to joining PI, Jerry served in Philips Semiconductors for near 12 years since Nov. 1992. His experience in Philips includes Marketing&Sales Manager for Multi Market Semiconductors in Mainland China, Product Marketing, FAE and etc. From July 1988 to Nov. 1992, Jerry served as a R&D department director and R&D Engineer in a TV manufacture. Mr. Jerry Yang holds a S.M. (Master of Science) from Sichuan University of China with a concentration in optical and Digital Signal Processing.

Prof. Dr. Leo Lorenz received the Dipl. Ing. Degree from TU-Berlin and the Dr.-Ing. Degree from the University of Munich, Germany in 1972 and 1976 respectively. From 1976 till 1980 he was with AEG, R&D - Center for Power Electronics in Berlin. In 1980 he joined Siemens Semiconductor Division which became Infineon Technologies AG in 1999. Since this time he works on Power Semiconductor & Power IC's in different functions and responsibilities. In his position, a senior director, he is responsible for all automotive and industrial technologies and for the time being located in Shanghai. He published over 250 technical papers and has many patents in these fields. In 2001 he was nominated to become Professor for System Integration at the University of Ilmenau (Germany). He is also the president of the ECPE (European Center of Power Electronics), an IEEE Fellow and member of German Academy of Science.
